Samriddha Pahad – Access to finance and tourism development project- Phase I

Duration and timeline:

[August 2018 to Aug 2020]

Thematic area & intervention:

Financial inclusion and livelihood development

The Nepali mountain and hill regions are inaccessible, underdeveloped, and have a less dynamic economy. Poverty in these areas has been exacerbated by subsistence economic dependency, poor agricultural production, and restricted access to essential services. The development of Nepal's hilly and mountainous regions is markedly unequal, which has led to widespread poverty, the lack of sustainable livelihoods, and restricted access to credit.

The project's objectives include improving access to capital, promoting travel to the Kanchenjunga region, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and building micro-infrastructure.
